Strong Winter Weather/Hazardous Conditions Predicted for Evening Commute

January 30th, 2019 – Please be advised, strong winter weather is expected to begin in our area around 4:00 pm today, consisting of strong winds and gusts around 49 mph. Snow accumulation is being predicated at approximately 1/2 inch.

Low visibility and icy road surfaces will make for potentially hazardous driving conditions during the evening commute.

Tonight, expect temperatures to drop significantly, with strong winds near 43 mph placing wind chill values as low as minus 10 degrees. Supervisor Carpenter is urging residents to exercise caution on the roadways, and to only travel if necessary.
