September 1st, 2023 – Families, community leaders, civic organizations and Town and County officials came together to pay tribute to the lives lost to overdose by lighting the Bayport Blue Point Library tree purple Thursday. The gathering marked International Overdose Awareness Day, while offering Narcan/Harm Reduction Training; “Shed the Meds”; along with mental health resources.

September 1st, 2023 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined with MacArthur Airport officials Shelley LaRose Arken, Aviation Commissioner and Robert Schneider, Deputy Aviation Commissioner, to recognize Breeze ISP GAT staff for their exceptional overall performance, truly exemplifying the Best in Airline Ground Support.

GAT has been providing quality airline ground support services for more than 40 years, and the team at Breeze ISP has continued that legacy.

September 1st, 2023 – Professional Care Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation opened its doors on Islip Avenue in Islip recently. Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter was on hand to cut the ceremonial ribbon, officially welcoming the 3 in 1 PT facility to the community. Inside the new 11,000 sf space, clients will find ProCare Occupational Therapy; ProCare Athletic Performance (PCAP) among the Professional Care umbrella.

August 29th, 2023 – Longtime Town of Islip resident Hertha Shank celebrated her 95th birthday with friends and family at the Joyce Fitzpatrick Senior Center recently. Islip Town Supervisor, Angie Carpenter presented Hertha with a citation recognizing her exemplary life, a single mom who worked as a bookkeeper and raised two children, Robert and Christine in their home in Country Village where Hertha has lived for 67 years.

August 29th, 2023 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter paid a visit to Joseph Vitale on the occasion of his 99th birthday recently. Joseph is a true American hero, whose honor, courage and devotion to duty would lead him to serve at the Brooklyn Army Base prior to joining the United States Army during the Second World War, wherein he would serve with the 4th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squadron on the frontlines during the Battle of the Bulge in Ardennes, Central Europe and Rhineland.

August 24th, 2023 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter recently accepted donations on behalf of the Town of Islip Youth Bureau’s School Supply Drive, from the generous members of the Marine Corps League of Bay Shore.

The ever-popular drive has proven essential to local families, who rely upon the kindness of community groups and residents to assist in reducing the expense of readying their children for the school year.
