October 3rd, 2024 – MacArthur Airport is again a winner in USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards in the Best Small Airport Category, jumping from 5th to 3rd place in this year’s competition. On August 26, voting began following MacArthur Airport’s nomination by an independent panel of travel experts and editors. Nineteen other airports were also nominated for the Award.

August 30, 2024 – The Town of Islip Law Enforcement Academy graduated its 7th class of cadets recently.

July 10th, 2024 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and the Islip Town Board honored Chief Lifeguard Daniel Gschwind and Lifeguards Caden Teirney and Teague Nolan at the August Town Board Meeting for rescuing sailors whose sunfish sailboat had recently capsized in the Great South Bay.

August 7th, 2024 – Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) welcomed the announcement of new nonstop flights between ISP and Sarasota, Florida on Breeze Airways.
