– Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter met with Girl Scout Junior Troop 230, 4th & 5th grade girls at Brettonwoods Elementary School, who are writing a book as part of their Bronze Award project. The students' project features women within the community who serve in roles traditionally held by men. – The annual cleanup of Spur Drive South from Brentwood Road to 5th Ave is scheduled to kick off on April 23rd at 10am. This year, South Shore University Hospital and the Town of Islip are proud to participate in the event, in partnership with the Islip Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee and KIC (Keep Islip Clean).
