May 5th, 2023 – The Town of Islip paid tribute to the memory of its fallen hometown heroes, FDNY Jesse Gerhard and FDNY William Moon, with a cupola lighting ceremony Thursday. The event marks the National Fallen Firefighters Foundation’s, “Light the Night for Fallen Firefighters,” which invites fire and community organizations, businesses, landmarks and homes to light up red on May 4, International Firefighters Day, through May 7, National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Weekend, and honors the sacrifice of America’s fallen fire heroes.

June 23rd, 2023 – Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter is pleased to announce that two of the Town’s employees working in the Town’s Public Information Office have been honored with a prestigious Folio award for the outstanding documentary, "The Blue Point Oyster." Those employees are Communications Director, Caroline Smith and Videographer, Gary Licker.

June 29th, 2023 – Islip Town officials broke ground on the construction of a new turf field at Broadway Ave. Park in Sayville that will play host to athletes of 3 popular sports. The new turf field will be lined for men’s football, women’s and men’s lacrosse, and will replace the multi-purpose grass field built in 2014.
