Long Island Housing Partnership Foreclosure Informational Sessions

March 26th, 2019 – The New York State office of the Attorney General has provided grant funding to aid those who are or may be at risk of foreclosing on their home. The Town of Islip, in conjunction with the Long Island Housing Partnership (LIHP), will be providing informational sessions on April 2nd from 12:00pm–2:00pm, and April 9th, from 6:00pm–8:00pm, to inform Town of Islip residents of the options that may be available to them in light of the funding. Sessions will be hosted in the Auditorium at Town Hall West, located at 401 Main Street in Islip. Bilingual LIHP experts will be on hand to help answer questions. March 19th, 2019 – Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter, in conjunction with the SCWA, will host an open 'WaterTalk' on Monday, March 25th, to answer your questions about groundwater supply and drinking water topics. Panelists will include Joseph Pokorny, SCWA Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Operations, and Thomas Schneider, SCWW Laboratory Manager. Central Islip Downtown Revitalization Initiative to Host Third Community Workshop

Community Workshop Set for March 18th

March 13th, 2019 – Downtown Central Islip was selected as the winner of the $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) in the Long Island region. New York State’s DRI seeks to “transform communities ripe for development into vibrant neighborhoods where the next generation of New Yorkers will want to live, work, and raise a family.”

Join us at the Central Islip Senior High School Cafeteria on Monday, March 18th, 2019 for the third and final Community Workshop to learn more about this planning effort and the projects that will be recommended for state funding as part of the DRI Strategic Investment Plan. We'll also discuss what happens after the DRI Strategic Investment Plan is submitted, as well as the next steps the community can take to help spark economic vitality and generate growth in the downtown area.
