June 6th, 2018 – Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs have announced the 2018 Lauren Kristy Sunset Dinner Cruises, with dates beginning in June through August. Set sail aboard the "Lauren Kristy" paddleboat on its way to Fire Island's Atlantique Beach. Enjoy buffet dinner service with complimentary beverage, DJ entertainment, and more.


"Secret Gardens of Islip" Garden Walk to be held July 14th

June 5th, 2018 – Highlighted in Newsday's "weekend top 10 things to do" in 2016, the Historical Society of Islip Hamlet will have their 6th Garden Walk – “Secret Gardens of Islip” - on Saturday, July 14th (rain date July 15th) from 12 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. Come enjoy a beautiful summer day as 5 friends of the society open their gates for guests to stroll through and enjoy these unique gardens; entertainment by Carols for Causes and light refreshments served at each location.


Town Clerk Office Hours - July 2nd – July 6th, 2018

May 31st, 2018 – Please be advised, during the week of July 2nd – June 6th the Town Clerk's Office will operate from 8:30am to 4:30pm. On Tuesday, July 3rd the Town Clerk's Office will not be holding their usual extended hours of 8:30am to 7:15pm, and will instead operate from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

LIRR Double Track Project - Month of June

May 31st, 2018 – During the weekends of June 2 – 4 and June 23 – 25, the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) will continue ongoing track work and other construction as part of the Double Track Project between Hicksville and Ronkonkoma. This work is being performed as part of the LIRR Double Track Project which will improve service and reliability on the LIRR’s Ronkonkoma Branch and spur economic activity. It will reduce delays and enable more off peak service in both directions. See full details below.


Supervisor Carpenter and Mitchell Pally to Lead CEO Summit Panel

Supervisor Announces “Learn to be Tobacco Free” Program in Sayville

May 25th, 2018 – Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter is pleased to announce that the Suffolk County Health Department is offering a free program to help those struggling to stop smoking.

The “Learn to Be…Tobacco Free,” program, offers assistance with planning, support, and counseling. The program also provides over-the counter medications for a fee to participants who are medically eligible.

“The health and well-being of our residents is a top priority, and tobacco use remains the leading cause of preventable death and illness in the Country. Therefore, I am delighted that this program will be offered at Sayville, right here in the Town of Islip,” commented Supervisor Carpenter.


Annual Quality of Life Initiative

May 22nd, 2018 – For the 3rd consecutive summer, Code Enforcement will be performing its annual Quality of Life Initiative, a non-complaint enforcement program that focuses on quality of life issues occurring on residential properties. Outdoor storage of unregistered vehicles, parking of commercial vehicles and equipment, excessive vegetation, and other violations of Chapter 6A of the Town of Islip Code will be addressed. Enforcement will be conducted beginning May 29th through September 1st, in every hamlet in the Town of Islip, excluding Fire Island.

Town to Host Senior Tech Course

May 21st, 2018 – Learn how to navigate the world wide web, operate your mobile phone or use a laptop at the Town of Islip's "TECH TALK." Town of Islip technology staff will conduct a class at the Oakdale Senior Center, 963 Montauk Highway, Oakdale on Tuesday, May 22nd, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm..

Extended hours in Brookwood Hall I.D. Room

May 18th, 2018 – To help facilitate constituents acquiring pool memberships, recreation cards, boat ramp permits, etc. the I.D. Room at Brookwood Hall, 50 Irish Lane, East Islip, NY 11730 will be extending their hours on Thursday nights until 5:45 and Saturdays from 9 am – 12:45 pm. These hours will start on Thursday, May 24, 2018 and run through July 7, 2018. Dates and times outlined below:
