November 21st, 2022 – Town of Islip officials today distributed more than 800 turkeys and 850 ‘Boxes of Love’ to 51 agencies, churches and to 10 school districts within the Town to help those families experiencing food insecurity on Thanksgiving Day.
The ‘Boxes of Love’ contain all the necessary ingredients to make a traditional holiday dinner, including stuffing, yams, green beans, cranberry sauce and pies. Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter was on hand for the event which took place at the Town’s Casamento Park in Bay Shore.

November 18th, 2022 – Islip Food for Hope board members and Town of Islip officials and personnel put the finishing touches on 850 Thanksgiving “Boxes of Love” this week, in preparation for the town’s annual Thanksgiving distribution day Monday, November 21.

October 27th, 2022 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined the family and friends of fallen FDNY firefighter Jesse Gerhard, to symbolically rename South Bay Ave., the Islip street where Jesse was raised, “Firefighter Jesse Gerhard Way.”
