November 18th, 2022 – Islip Food for Hope board members and Town of Islip officials and personnel put the finishing touches on 850 Thanksgiving “Boxes of Love” this week, in preparation for the town’s annual Thanksgiving distribution day Monday, November 21. The “Boxes of Love,” along with 800 turkeys, will be distributed from Casamento Park to 51 agencies, churches and to 10 school districts within the Town, to help those families experiencing food insecurity on Thanksgiving Day.
“We are appreciative of Islip Food for Hope supporters and Town of Islip employees for their donations and support each year, as the success of this program relies on their generosity,” said Islip Town Supervisor, Angie Carpenter. “Everyone deserves to celebrate Thanksgiving, and year after year, we’re able to count on their generosity to provide families in need with the essentials necessary to ensure a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and the beautiful memories that come with it,” added the Supervisor.
