Welcome to the Town Clerk's Office

Islip Town Clerk Olga H. Murray serves as the Town’s secretary of all official minutes, registrar, licensing officer, records custodian, freedom of information administrator and the designated marriage officer of the Town.

Marriage, hunting, fishing, dog, clamming, peddlers, games of chance, bingo and taxi licenses are issued by the Town Clerk. Requests for parade permits, block parties, garage sales, and going-out-of business sales are processed by this office as well. As the Registrar of Vital Statistics, the Town Clerk is also responsible for recording all births and deaths in the Town.

  Important Notices & Information:

  • *NEW* Digital Freedom of Information (FOIL) Application:

    The Islip Town Clerk’s office has begun the process of taking forms digitally, beginning with our FOIL request. You can now fill out the FOIL form and submit it online. Be on the look out for more digital forms including Dog Licenses and more. Click here to fill out the FOIL Application digitally.

  • To be eligible for a Marriage License, at least one partner MUST be from the Town of Islip and the second partner MUST be a New York State resident. BOTH applications MUST have a Department of Motor Vehicles issued New York State I.D. (either a driver's license, learner's permit, or non-driving identification) to qualify for a marriage license.
