November 14th, 2024 – Long Island MacArthur Airport officials welcomed Trisko, a 2-year-old Golden Retriever-Labrador mix to the airport family this week. Trisko and his partner, Suffolk County Police Officer Eric DiPrima are assigned exclusively to Long Island MacArthur Airport. Trisko was donated by Canine Companions and recently completed three months of training in explosives detection.

October 24th, 2024 – Members of Islip Food for Hope, Good Samaritan University Hospital, South Shore University Hospital, local Chambers of Commerce, business owners and Town of Islip employees came together this week for the Islip Town Supervisor's Annual Thanksgiving Breakfast benefiting Islip Food for Hope. The event is hosted by Islip Town Supervisor, Angie Carpenter, who was joined by members of the Islip Town Board, Town of Islip Commissioners and Deputies, and Suffolk County Executive, Edward Romaine.

October 25th, 2024 – Islip Town Supervisor, Angie Carpenter announced today that Ela Dokonal, AICP CUD CC-P LEED-AP, Commissioner, Town of Islip Planning and Development Department, is the recipient of the prestigious 2024 Andrew Haswell Green Award for her outstanding contributions to urban planning for many years. The award was presented on behalf of the American Planning Association – New York Metro Chapter (APA NYM Chapter) at the 2024 APA-NYM Annual Conference on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at the NYU Kimmel Center for University Life.

October 25th, 2024 – This month, Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter and members of the Town Board had the honor of recognizing West Sayville resident, Commander George J. Munkenbeck, United States Coast Guard Reserve (Ret.), for his recent recognition as the 145th Registered Public Historian in New York… and for receiving the prestigious Edward J. Winslow Local Government Historian Award for Excellence.
