June 20th, 2024 – Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter recently joined members of the community at a ceremony commemorating the life and legacy of Nina Cooley with the symbolic renaming of the intersection of Fawn Drive and Grenadier Lane as "Nina Cooley Way." The celebration honored Cooley's lifelong dedication to veterans, her community and her family.
June 5th, 2024 – Governor Hochul today announced $10 million for the Town of Islip Regional Shellfish Hatchery. The establishment of the Regional Shellfish Hatchery will expand New York's blue economy and address pressing environmental, economic and cultural challenges while fostering sustainable development and resiliency in the region.
May 31, 2024 – The Cradle of Aviation Museum, the Town of Islip, and Long Island MacArthur Airport are celebrating the one-year anniversary of a successful partnership providing hands-on STEM and Aviation Education.
May 22nd, 2024 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and members of the Islip Town Board were joined by Town, County and local officials at the Town's Boater Safety Press Conference at the Bay Shore Marina. The annual event held before the extended Memorial Day holiday weekend, is designed to underscore and emphasize the importance of safe boating and swimming practices as residents begin to prepare their boats, pools and personal watercraft for a summer of recreation on the water.
