April 25th, 2019– Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter participated on the HIA-LI panel this morning to discuss the Hauppauge Industrial Park: Current and Future Growth.
The results of a 167-page report commissioned by the Suffolk County IDA were revealed at the breakfast event, hailing the 1,650-acre Hauppauge Industrial Park (HIP) as a "real jewel," according to Terri Alessi-Miceli, CEO of HIA-LI. The report foresees the park as a regional economic core to lure and keep workers.
"It's an exciting time for the HIA, the second largest industrial park in the country," said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter. “The Hauppauge Industrial Park plays a vital role in the economic development of Long Island. The strategies outlined in this analysis will prove essential in engendering partnerships that will continue to move our local economy forward for generations to come,” said Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
The Town of Islip IDA currently has 14 active projects in the HIP.
Supervisor Carpenter was joined by Smithtown Supervisor Ed Wierheim; Executive Director, HIA-LI Terri Alessi Miceli; Board Chair, Joe Campolo and founding member Jack Kulka.
