A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

*UPDATED 2/28/2025

The Town of Islip is pleased to finally be able to undertake this project and have the opportunity to address the ADA handicap needs of our residents, while at the same time add needed space to our nearly 100 year old Town Hall. We are able to do this with the restricted Federal ARPA funds we received. All of this will enhance the experience for residents and help Town staff to better serve the community.

The Town Hall Annex Project also seeks to relocate critical documents, equipment, and staff from the flood-prone basement, and consolidate the Planning and Development Department to boost efficiency. Additionally, the project will add upgrades to IT infrastructure for increased resiliency. The new Annex will be energy-efficient, solar-ready, and designed with a focus on accessibility and sustainability.

CURRENT STATUS UPDATE:

  • Nassau Avenue closure starts Monday, March 10th at 7AM, with reopening at 7PM with new traffic pattern when Nassau Avenue becomes two-way.
  • On Wednesday and Thursday March 12th/13th, the temporary ADA handicap ramp will be constructed at the Main entrance. During that time, the Main entrance will be closed, and visitors/constituents will access the Town Hall from East/West side employee entrances.
  • Starting Friday March 14th, the construction fencing will be installed, and access to municipal parking lot will change. Learn More.
