Councilmanic Districts

Councilman James P. O’Connor grew up in Westbury, New York. His mother was a teacher and his father was a pharmacist. As the oldest of four boys, Jim learned the importance of family values and a strong work ethic at a young age.

Jim graduated from Carle Place High School in 1981. He went on to graduate Boston College, and earn his Juris Doctorate at Hofstra University School of Law. He has been a practicing attorney since 1989 and is admitted to practice in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Washington D.C.

Michael McElwee Jr. grew up inHolbrook, NY, the son of a nurse and a Nassau County Police officer. In 2003 after rising to the position of General Manager, Mike ventured out on his own to start a successful career in the Bar & Restaurant industry, and together with his partners has continued to open multiple successful locations across Long Island.

Mike has been active in the Bay Shore community since 2003. He is on the board of the Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce and a member of The Bay Shore Business Improvement District.

Councilman Lorenzo believes in the philosophy of giving back to the community where he lives and serves. He has spent the past decade serving on several non-profit organizations, including President & Board Member of ISF Inclusive Sports and Fitness and The Neighborhood House, and was the former Chairman of the Town of Islip Zoning Board of Appeals.
