August 15th, 2019 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter attended the 25th Annual Clam Shucking Contest hosted by the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition. The contest, held at Nicky’s on the Bay in Bay Shore, drew community members, elected officials and representatives from Good Samaritan Hospital to the annual event.
The fundraiser included a Clam Shucking Contest, Chinese Auction and raffles, The Chapey Prize Wheel, activities for kids, as well as Radio Personalities “FINGERS & JP” from WBAB, who were accompanied by the “Beach Blender” Brian who DJ’d the event. All proceeds from the day went to breast and gynecological cancer care and research.
“The Town of Islip congratulates the West Islip Breast Cancer Coalition on their 25th anniversary, and commends the organization’s tireless efforts to advocate for and support womens’ health,” said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.
Also in attendance joining Supervisor Carpenter were representatives from Councilwoman Mary Kate Mullen, Councilman John C. Cochrane, Jr. and Councilman James P. O’Connor’s offices.
