ISLIP, NY – November 6, 2025 -Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined students, teachers, veterans and community members at Bayview Elementary School on November 6th for the school’s annual “Salute to Veterans” celebration, honoring local veterans for their service and sacrifice.

The event featured heartfelt letters of appreciation, patriotic artwork and a wall of heroes. Veterans from the community were invited as honored guests to share stories about their service and receive thanks from the students.

Supervisor Carpenter expressed gratitude to both the veterans and the school for keeping the spirit of remembrance and respect alive among young people.

“It’s inspiring to see our students learning about the importance of service, courage, and gratitude,” said Supervisor Carpenter. “Our veterans represent the best of our community and our nation. I thank Principal John Mullins and all the staff at Bayview Elementary school for organizing this meaningful event each year.”
