August 10th, 2023 – Tuesday was National Pickleball Day, and what better way to celebrate than with the unveiling of 6 dedicated pickleball courts in the hamlet of Sayville. In addition, 4 new tennis courts were also unveiled at the ribbon-cutting event at Broadway Ave. Park.
August 14th, 2023 – Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Acceptance (IDEA) was the theme of a cultural festival hosted by the Town at the Islip Grange recently. The international craft, cuisine and cultural festival featured performances, international food and merchandise vendors.
August 10th, 2023 – Town Councilman John C. Cochrane, Jr., retired US Navy Captain and Chairman of Islip Town Veterans’ Advisory Board, recently met with our Town’s newest centenarian, World War II Veteran, Warren James, to congratulate him on his milestone 100th birthday.
August 9th, 2023 – Kids 8-16 years-old have been learning water safety, life saving techniques, and how to use rescue equipment in Atlantique, Fire Island, in preparation for the New York State Level 1 Ocean Lifeguard Test.
August 9th, 2023 – It was Sachem Share Day at the Wet Pants Sailing Association in Sayville recently. Extended year students from the high school enjoy boat rides, participate in various activities around the club, and end the day with ice cream sundaes!
