August 7th, 2023 – Islip Town Supervisor, Angie Carpenter and the Town Board once again hosted the annual Roberto Clemente Summer Splash Pool Party! Families enjoyed Cornhole, Mini Golf, FREE admission and hot dogs under gorgeous summer skies!
July 24th, 2023 – Laura Amato was born on June 14, 1932 in Manhattan. She met her husband Mathew through a family friend, and they were married for 39 years. They have two children, Vinnie and Frankie. Frankie and his wife Joanne have two children, and they live next door to Laura. She loves cooking for them.
July 20th, 2023 – Over a dozen students age 11 to 14 are learning vital water safety and life-saving lessons through the Town's Junior Lifeguard Program.
The program helps provide students with the necessary training to complete the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course offered to ages 15+, and will further them on the path to become one of our Town's many dedicated Bay and Pool Lifeguards.
July 19th, 2023 – Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and the Islip Town Board recently congratulated Islip resident Lt. Justin Hespeler of the FDNY, for in May receiving the Public Safety Officer Medal of Valor from President Biden.
July 17th, 2023 – The West Islip Chamber of Commerce held its annual Family Fun Night at Madeleine's Playground in West Islip Beach.
The 9th annual event honors the life of Madeleine Hsu.
Parents and children alike enjoyed Food Trucks; DJ; Raffle Wheel; games; face painting; Corn Hole Toss; tattoos, Hammer Bell and Beach Buckets. Admission is always FREE.
July 7th, 2023 – Edith Gross celebrated her 95th birthday at the Oakdale Senior Center! Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined with Edith's friends and family for the celebration.
Edith is a public speaker who shares her story of surviving the Holocaust with students and adults during speaking engagements.
