July 17th, 2023 – The West Islip Chamber of Commerce held its annual Family Fun Night at Madeleine's Playground in West Islip Beach.
The 9th annual event honors the life of Madeleine Hsu.
Parents and children alike enjoyed Food Trucks; DJ; Raffle Wheel; games; face painting; Corn Hole Toss; tattoos, Hammer Bell and Beach Buckets. Admission is always FREE.
July 7th, 2023 – Edith Gross celebrated her 95th birthday at the Oakdale Senior Center! Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined with Edith's friends and family for the celebration.
Edith is a public speaker who shares her story of surviving the Holocaust with students and adults during speaking engagements.

July 7th, 2023 – Town of Islip kids were all smiles as they kicked-off the official start of summer 2023 this week! Casamento Pool Camp, Small Fry at Higbie Lane and Cape Cod and the JFK Playground Camps welcomed kids of all ages for another memorable summer of fun and games!
July 7th, 2023 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter was joined by town officials, a veteran ocean lifeguard and a NYS DEC marine biologist at a press conference to address the recent shark encounters that took place during the 4th of July holiday weekend on Fire Island and at surrounding beaches.
June 29th, 2023 – Islip Town officials broke ground on the construction of a new turf field at Broadway Ave. Park in Sayville that will play host to athletes of 3 popular sports. The new turf field will be lined for men’s football, women’s and men’s lacrosse, and will replace the multi-purpose grass field built in 2014.
June 29th, 2023 – Breeze Airways' inaugural flight to Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina took off from Long Island MacArthur Airport Thursday. Summer seasonal service is offered Thursdays and Saturdays, starting June 29th at $59 one way.
June 28th, 2023 – Emma Dean Stahl received a Girl Scout Gold Award for her beautification project at Edwin Boogertman Memorial Park on Division Ave. in West Sayville. Emma's project included clearing the grounds, a new garden box and new plantings.
