March 2, 2023 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter presented her annual State of the Town address Wednesday, standing firm against recent proposals from Albany that could diminish local autonomy and push aside local zoning laws. The Supervisor also announced plans for a new Town Comprehensive Plan, and reemphasized the policies and programs that have helped Islip thrive these past eight years.

March 10th, 2023 – Happy 99th Birthday to Inamay! Happy 99th birthday to Inamay Mulvey!!! Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined in the celebration of Inamay’s 99th birthday at the West Islip Senior Center. Inamay was born in Manhattan on March 8th, 1924. Her family moved to Babylon, NY where she attended school, graduating high school 1943. Inamay worked at Republic Aviation in the flight test department and field service for 12 years.

February 22nd, 2023 – Long Island MacArthur Airport today officially dedicated its $8.4 million, 12,000 SF Ground Transportation Center (GTC) following the completion of a Terminal Walkway, the final component of the project. Additionally, the airport announced $26 million in improvements to the Main Terminal Building, along with Mechanical Engineering and Plumbing (MEP) upgrades. While this construction work is funded by separate grants, the projects will take place simultaneously for efficiency, and to keep operations running smoothly for customers. The project is expected to take approximately one year to complete.

February 28th, 2023 – Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter presented South Shore University Hospital and Good Samaritan University Hospital each with checks for $225 to their respective heart health research programs. The monies were raised through the Town’s annual “Wear Red Day” during the American Heart Association’s signature women’s initiative, Go Red for Women platform designed to increase women’s heart health awareness.
