October 26th, 2023 – Since rebranding the Anti Bias Task Force into the Unity Council, the Town of Islip has hosted Holocaust Survivor Edith Gross, held a Unity Prayer service with religious leaders of different faiths and backgrounds, and held its inaugural “Unity in the Community” fair.
October 25th, 2023 – Timber Point Country Club was the backdrop for Islip Food for Hope's Supervisor's Breakfast. The not-for-profit raises funds for Thanksgiving meals for those in need.
October 24th, 2023 – MacArthur Airport is again a winner in the USAToday 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards in the Best Small Airport Category. In September, an independent panel of travel experts nominated MacArthur Airport, and 19 other airports with fewer than 10 million passengers each year for the Award. Voting took place for 28 days, as airports competed for this nationwide honor. USAToday 10Best revealed the winners today. This is the third consecutive year Long Island MacArthur Airport has been nominated and included in the 10Best list.
October 18th, 2023 – Throughout the year, the Town of Islip has the distinct honor of recognizing extraordinary members of the community. This month, the Town recognized those members of the community of Italian Heritage, and whose presence in the Town has improved the quality of life for their fellow neighbors and communities. Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter and the members of the Town Board this week recognized 4 such members at the October Town Board meeting.
October 18th, 2023 – The Town of Islip is fortunate to have many dedicated and civic minded individuals who devote their time to improve, serve, and safekeep the Town.
October 13th, 2023 – Fifth grade boys from Cub Scout Pack 205 visited Islip Town Hall recently and met with Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter. The visit was a requirement of the "Build a Better World" project. As part of the project, scouts are asked to meet with a government leader to learn more about his/her role in government.
