November 21st, 2022 – Town of Islip officials today distributed more than 800 turkeys and 850 ‘Boxes of Love’ to 51 agencies, churches and to 10 school districts within the Town to help those families experiencing food insecurity on Thanksgiving Day.
The ‘Boxes of Love’ contain all the necessary ingredients to make a traditional holiday dinner, including stuffing, yams, green beans, cranberry sauce and pies. Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter was on hand for the event which took place at the Town’s Casamento Park in Bay Shore.
November 21st, 2022 – Keaton, a 2nd grader at Cherokee Elementary in Ronkonkoma, turned cardboard boxes into a haunted house Halloween costume, and was recognized by Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Madeline Sharrock, Executive Director, Keep Islip Clean (KIC) at Islip Town Hall recently.
November 18th, 2022 – Islip Food for Hope board members and Town of Islip officials and personnel put the finishing touches on 850 Thanksgiving “Boxes of Love” this week, in preparation for the town’s annual Thanksgiving distribution day Monday, November 21.
November 10th, 2022 – Suffolk County Sheriff Errol Toulon, Jr., Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Councilman James O’Connor joined with community advocates this week to announce a new program to assist Deputy Sheriffs communicate with deaf, hard of hearing or speech impaired residents.
November 10th, 2022 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined residents ages 60 and up for a memorable afternoon of dining and dancing as the Town of Islip Annual Senior Fall Ball hosted by the Town’s Senior Citizen Services Division returned following a COVID 19 hiatus. More than 135 seniors gathered at the Timberpoint Country Club to enjoy live music and a four-course lunch. For over 30 years, the Fall Ball has been the most popular senior event hosted by the Town.
October 28th, 2022 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined with Touro University President Dr. Alan Kadish, Executive Vice President Rabbi Moshe Krupka, Touro administrative staff, students and state and federal officials, to celebrate the expansion of Touro's new Long Island campus.
