July 21, 2022 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined Park and Recreation Deputy Commissioner Carol Charchalis to celebrate WWII Veteran Nicholas Della Valle’s 100th Birthday.
Nicholas joined the United States Air Forces during the Second World War serving as an Engineer Mechanic and Crew Chief of the B-26 Bomber 1298 Twin Engine.
July 21st, 2022 – Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined residents at West Islip Beach recently for a Family Night commemorating the 8th anniversary of Madeline’s Playground. The event is held annually in celebration of Madeline Hsu’s birthday, who was among the victims lost in the tragic events at Sandy Hook Elementary.
July 20th, 2022 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter honored North Bay Shore resident, Margot Pregitzer for her extraordinary community dedication and positive neighborly behavior exhibited over the course of more than sixty years.
July 15th, 2022 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and the Islip Town Board recently honored Central Islip Teacher, Darren Ehrhardt, at the July Town Board Meeting. Darren is one of 10 educators nationally to be selected for the “2022 Amazon Future Engineer Teacher of the Year” award.
July 8th, 2022 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter, Tom Owens, Commissioner, Town of Islip Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs and NYS Assemblyman Phil Ramos, unveiled new upgrades at the Brentwood Recreation Center this week, along with a new turf field at the Central Islip Community Park.
July 7th, 2022 – The Town of Islip’s Public Safety Division has been working with all Town departments to increase situational awareness among employees. Recently, full-time, part-time and seasonal employees throughout the Town’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs participated in two important staff training exercises- “Active Shooter Training” and “Stop the Bleed.”
