July 9th, 2021 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter visited Empire Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in West Islip to present one of their employees with a Citation of Recognition for his heroic lifesaving efforts. Fignole Cosmeus, Jr. having witnessed his co-worker experience a medical emergency, jumped swiftly into action. Cosmeus immediately called 911 and followed the dispatcher’s instructions, maintaining continuous CPR until paramedics could arrive on scene to administer further care.

July 9th, 2021 – As news broke that the New York State mass vaccination site at Suffolk Community College in Brentwood would close, Good Samaritan Hospital, a member of Catholic Health, and the Town of Islip announced plans to convert the current testing site at the Brentwood Recreation Center to provide FREE drive-thru Moderna vaccinations for all residents.

July 7th, 2021 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter met with members of Central Islip Connect for Change to present them with Town of Islip Certificates of Appreciation on behalf of the Town Board, for their efforts to beautify the grounds of the Central Islip Recreation Center. The group constructed planter boxes, and planted flowers around the Recreation Center welcome sign.
