July 9th, 2021 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter visited Empire Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in West Islip to present one of their employees with a Citation of Recognition for his heroic lifesaving efforts. Fignole Cosmeus, Jr. having witnessed his co-worker experience a medical emergency, jumped swiftly into action. Cosmeus immediately called 911 and followed the dispatcher’s instructions, maintaining continuous CPR until paramedics could arrive on scene to administer further care.

July 7th, 2021 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter met with members of Central Islip Connect for Change to present them with Town of Islip Certificates of Appreciation on behalf of the Town Board, for their efforts to beautify the grounds of the Central Islip Recreation Center. The group constructed planter boxes, and planted flowers around the Recreation Center welcome sign.

July 2nd, 2021 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Veteran Navy Captain Councilman John Cochrane attended the annual Fourth of July Barbecue hosted by the United Veterans Beacon House in Bay Shore. The event honors veterans for their service and provides an opportunity for socializing.

July 2nd, 2021 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Councilman John Cochrane recently visited the Central Islip Community Garden to commemorate its 10th Anniversary. Dedicated community garden members from Central Islip plant and grow a variety of flowers and organic vegetables in the garden.

This year, garden members plan to implement a Grow and Give program dedicated to fighting food insecurity within the Town, by donating produce to local food pantries that has been grown within the garden.
