January 21st, 2022 Residents across the Town of Islip took the Betty White Challenge to heart, by sending hundreds of items to the Town of Islip Animal Shelter through Amazon purchases, mail-in check or donation. The Betty White Challenge honored beloved actress and animal rights advocate Betty White’s 100th birthday. Large and small businesses took part in the challenge, including Local Burger in Bay Shore and Long Island MacArthur Airport’s newest airline partner, Breeze Airways.

January 6th, 2022 Islip, NY – The Town of Islip Youth Bureau’s Coat Drive received a generous donation of coats from students of the Connetquot High School Interact Club. Students and teachers donated coats, hats and other winter apparel that will be given out families in need within the Town of Islip. Coats for all ages, including babies, toddlers and young children were collected for distribution.

December 22nd, 2021 Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined the family of Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Sergeant Keith Allison at a street renaming ceremony in honor of the late Sergeant. Inv. Sgt. Allison died December 17th, 2020 from complications due to COVID-19. He was 52.

December 22nd, 2021 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Youth Enrichment Services Executive Director MaryAnn Pfeiffer recently accepted a generous contribution of toys from Galaxy Realty who hosted a toy drive benefitting children within the Town of Islip. The toys will be distributed by Youth Enrichment Services to families within Islip who are most in need this holiday season.
