October 22nd, 2021 Islip Supervisor, Angie Carpenter explored the latest in leadership and management practices, as one of 38 mayors and government leaders selected for an intensive education program with the Bloomberg Harvard City Leadership Initiative.

As a member of the Initiative’s Class of 2021-22, Supervisor Carpenter is part of a class of mayors who participated in a program delivered by faculty from Harvard Business School and Harvard Kennedy School as well as world-class experts from Bloomberg Philanthropies’ global network.

October 20th, 2021 Islip, NY – Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Councilman Jim O'Connor joined Town of Islip Community Development Agency Executive Director, James Bowers, and the Affordable Housing Director, Robert Kuri, at the CDA Housing Lottery conducted at Islip Town Hall. Town officials drew the names of 17 applicants who may qualify for homeownership through the CDA’s Affordable Housing Program.

October 19th, 2021 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Councilman James P. O’Connor joined with volunteers and Keep Islip Clean Director, Nancy Cochran, for a cleanup of the Oakdale LIRR Station. Over 20 volunteers participated in the cleanup. Groups of volunteers cleaned both parking lots and platforms of the LIRR train station; a portion of Montauk Hwy spanning east and west of the station; the Oakdale-Bohemia Rd section to the north; and a park at the station.

October 14th, 2021 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined officials from Good Samaritan Hospital on the occasion of the hospital earning the Magnet Designation for Nursing Excellence. The Magnet Recognition Program highlights health care organizations that demonstrate excellence in nursing philosophy and practice, adhere to national standards for improving patient care, have an active research program, and display leadership and sensitivity to cultural and ethnic diversity.

October 13th, 2021 Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined with Town officials Tuesday morning, for the demolition of a blighted property in the Bay Shore community, following a unanimous resolution passed by the Town Board to raze the vacant home in early January of this year.

October 6th, 2021Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter, Councilman James P. O’Connor and Airport Commissioner Shelley LaRose-Arken joined with Veterans from across Long Island at Long Island MacArthur Airport recently to welcome Honor Flight Long Island and its first flight since 2019.
