July 26th, 2021 The Islip Town Small Fry Camp celebrated the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo with a Kiddie Olympics at the Cape Cod Small Fry Summer Camp in East Islip. Campers participated in several events including a sponge race, javelin throw, water balloon toss, and egg relay race. Each camper was awarded a medal for participating in the events.

July 14th, 2021 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Councilman James O’Connor attended the grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony for the newest Lidl location in Islip. This is the discount grocery store’s 20th location on Long Island and second in the Town of Islip. The opening featured a DJ, raffles and a food truck.

July 13th, 2021 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Councilwoman Mary Kate Mullen attended the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for East Islip’s newest beauty destination, Boheme Beauty Bar. The beauty bar offers a variety of services for men, women and children, including hair coloring, skin treatments, styling, make-up services and bridal events.

July 9th, 2021 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter visited Empire Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in West Islip to present one of their employees with a Citation of Recognition for his heroic lifesaving efforts. Fignole Cosmeus, Jr. having witnessed his co-worker experience a medical emergency, jumped swiftly into action. Cosmeus immediately called 911 and followed the dispatcher’s instructions, maintaining continuous CPR until paramedics could arrive on scene to administer further care.

July 7th, 2021 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter met with members of Central Islip Connect for Change to present them with Town of Islip Certificates of Appreciation on behalf of the Town Board, for their efforts to beautify the grounds of the Central Islip Recreation Center. The group constructed planter boxes, and planted flowers around the Recreation Center welcome sign.
