March6 11th, 2021 – South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore, formerly known as Southside Hospital, acknowledged its staff, and the memory of those whose lives were lost due to COVID-19, at a tearful ceremony Thursday in the hospital's Heroes Garden, in advance of New York’s Day of Remembrance, Sunday, March 14th. The World Health Organization declared COVID a global pandemic on March 11, 2020.
March 5th, 2021 – Training is well underway for the Town of Islip Public Safety Division's Peace Officer program.
The New York State approved program is taught by Town of Islip certified instructors.
March 2nd, 2021 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter presented a check to Good Samaritan Hospital officials on behalf of Town of Islip employees, who raised money during Go Red for Women in February.
February 16th, 2021 – Islip officials were the recipients of a sizable donation of PPE, courtesy of a Bohemia based, woman-owned business. Representatives from Liberty Masks donated 10,000 pieces of disposable and reusable PPE to the Town’s Public Safety Division and Office of Personnel.

February 5th, 2021 – Town of Islip employees joined Go Red for Women Friday, wearing red to raise awareness about heart disease in women.
Go Red for Women gives women a fighting chance against heart disease, by helping them understand their common killer.
