Supervisor takes group photo with hero rangers

November 25th, 2020 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter honored three Park Rangers for helping find a missing autistic Islip teenager last week. Sergeant Ed Carter, Park Ranger, Anthony Lagrasta and Park Ranger, Joseph Esposito, were recognized by Supervisor Carpenter for their heroism, after locating the teen in the woods nearby his home. The teen had been reported missing by his parents at approximately 3:30 Wednesday, November 18th after getting off the school bus.

November 24th, 2020 Town of Islip employees from various departments, participated in a one-hour seminar given by Joseph Fox, Executive, Life and Leadership Coach. Fox, a former Chief of the NYC Transit Bureau, shares his insights into leadership from 30 years of experience protecting New York City, and managing thousands of police officers.

Councilman Cochrane with Park Rangers Association and Baskets

November 20th, 2020 Islip Town Councilman John C. Cochrane, Jr. recently joined with the Islip Park Ranger Association, to donate 12 Thanksgiving baskets to families within the community. Each basket contained Thanksgiving essentials, including mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, corn, gravy, spinach, mac and cheese, cranberry jelly and cookie mix. The 12 baskets were given to veterans within the community to enjoy with their families.

November 19th, 2020 Going through the TSA screening checkpoint at MacArthur Airport will now be more efficient as new technology is in use. The TSA’s new Credential Authentication Technology (CAT) validates a traveler’s photo ID, and connects that information to an appropriate flight reservation prior to allowing the person to proceed through screening into the sterile area of the airport.

November 17th, 2020 Medical professionals from American Family Care (AFC Urgent Care – Long Island) joined with Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Long Island MacArthur Airport Commissioner Shelley LaRose-Arken to present a new COVID-19 testing appointment system conducted at MacArthur Airport designed to minimize quarantine and take some of the stress out of travel while keeping New York healthy.

November 16th, 2020 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined staff of the Town's Fire Marshal's office and Public Safety office, at a "walk out" celebrating the retirement of Fire Marshall II Dan Karl. Dan has been with the Fire Marshal's office since 2010. He was promoted to his current rank of Fire Marshal II in December of 2018.
