July 24th, 2020 – Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter along with Councilman James P. O’Connor recently met socially distanced with Brentwood senior Samantha Barbera to honor her for winning the Life’s WORC/The Family Center of Autism, Schneps Media and Claire Friedlander Family Foundation Essay Contest.
July 22nd, 2020 – Suffolk County began a comprehensive shellfish restoration program several years ago, covering thousands of acres in Peconic and Gardiner's Bays, in an effort to restore shellfish populations and improve water quality. Islip Town initiated a similar aquaculture program In 2011.
July 20th, 2020 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined with Senator Phil Boyle at the West Islip Senior Citizen Center to receive a donation of hand sanitizer from the Senator.
July 18th, 2020 – Come down to one of Town of Islip's beautiful Bay beaches for Yoga on the Beach.
Enjoy sunrise yoga from 6 am to 7 am or sunset yoga from 7 pm to 8 pm.
July 14th, 2020 – Construction of the new Town of Islip Animal Shelter continues to move forward, despite the NY Pause executive order during the COVID-19 public health crisis. The construction of the nearly 18,000sf state-of-the-art air conditioned facility has been considered essential throughout the pandemic.
July 15th, 2020 – Participants were out early enjoying Pilates on the beach in West Islip. The program is presented by the Town of Islip Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs, and runs Tuesday mornings from 8 am to 9 am through September 1 at West Islip Beach.
