October 21st, 2020 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Councilman James O’Connor recently met socially distanced with Bay Shore High School student Isabella Costello, to honor her for being one of the four winners of the 10th Annual Friedlander Upstander Award, which honors Long Island students who confront social injustice.

October 20th, 2020 Islip Town officials broke ground on infrastructure improvements at the Caesar Trunzo Senior Citizen Center in Brentwood today. Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter announced that 120 new parking spaces, new street lighting, drains, curbs and the removal of compromised trees would commence.

Town officials stand in the new hangar at Islip MacArthur Airport. They are cutting a ribbon to launch the unveiling of the new 32,000 sq facility.

October 14th, 2020 Today, Long Island MacArthur Airport formally commemorated the completion and opening of a new 31,800 square foot hangar and office facility for Hawthorne Global Aviation Services. This new addition brings Hawthorne’s commitment to MacArthur Airport to over 100,000 square feet of leasable space, and will enhance their service offering to Long Island’s aviation customers.

October 9th, 2020 In person ‘Get Fit with Nick’ exercise classes returned to the Town of Islip, offering senior citizens the opportunity to improve their health and well being. Classes that were once conducted indoors pre-pandemic are now being held outside, and enthusiastic senior citizens were ready.

October 7th, 2020 Long Island MacArthur Airport officials were joined by Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter, New York State Lieutenant Governor Kathy Hochul and other special guests, at a ground breaking ceremony marking the construction of a new, state-of-the-art Ground Transportation Vehicle Center and pedestrian walkway at Long Island MacArthur Airport.
