November 23rd, 2020 – Approximately 100 participating personnel from multiple mutual aid and airport departments responded to Long Island MacArthur Airport Sunday, in the same manner they would had an actual aircraft accident occurred. The emergency response was part of the airport’s full-scale emergency disaster exercise.

November 20th, 2020 – Islip Town Councilman John C. Cochrane, Jr. recently joined with the Islip Park Ranger Association, to donate 12 Thanksgiving baskets to families within the community. Each basket contained Thanksgiving essentials, including mashed potatoes, stuffing, green beans, corn, gravy, spinach, mac and cheese, cranberry jelly and cookie mix. The 12 baskets were given to veterans within the community to enjoy with their families.

November 19th, 2020 – Going through the TSA screening checkpoint at MacArthur Airport will now be more efficient as new technology is in use. The TSA’s new Credential Authentication Technology (CAT) validates a traveler’s photo ID, and connects that information to an appropriate flight reservation prior to allowing the person to proceed through screening into the sterile area of the airport.
