October 2nd, 2020 – Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Babylon Town officials, in collaboration Northwell Health, kicked-off October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Northwell’s 2nd annual “Pink by the Bay” event by lighting both Town Hall cupolas pink.
September 30th, 2020 – The Transportation Security Administration checkpoint at Long Island MacArthur Airport will now use state-of-the-art 3-D imaging to improve screening and detection capabilities. The system utilizes advanced technology algorithms and creates a 3-D image that rotates for complete visual analysis and inspection by TSA officers.
September 30th, 2020 – September 29, 2020 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and NY State Assemblyman Phil Ramos attended a joint press conference at the Central Islip Senior Center, to announce $250,000 in grant money earmarked for improvements to the senior center.
September 25th, 2020 – Long Island MacArthur Airport officials and Silver Defender representatives reapplied state-of-the-art antimicrobial film protection on high-touch surfaces throughout the airport terminal. Silver Defender is a film adhesive containing silver ions that react with germ cells to help keep surfaces disinfected, and is harmless to people and pets.
September 17th, 2020 – Town of Islip officials took another step toward ridding the Town of derelict properties with the demolition of a zombie home in Central Islip this week.
September 17th, 2020 – The Town of Islip Public Safety Division graduated 12 Peace Officers from its in-house training academy this week, the third Islip Town-run peace academy training program of its kind.
September 14th, 2020 – The memory of Sayville resident Robert Zane Jr. was honored by his family, the community and First Responders at a street renaming and dedication ceremony in the hamlet recently. Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and members of the Town Board visited with the Zane family.
