August 6th, 2020 – The Town of Islip sustained damage from tropical storm force winds caused by Hurricane Isaias, causing heavy limbs to fall, damaging fences and residents’ property, taking down power lines and leaving many roads impassable.
August 4th, 2020 – The Town of Islip is ready for possible high winds and rain caused by Hurricane Isaias, expected to hit the region Tuesday afternoon. The Town's department of Public Works began assessing Town equipment last week based on the long-range forecast and hurricane season.
August 5th, 2020 – Families turned out by the carload to enjoy an old-fashioned Drive-In Movie at Roberto Clemente Park in Brentwood Monday night. Monday's show was Lego Movie. The outdoor event is part of the ongoing Monday Night Drive-In Movie Night series presented by the Town of Islip Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs.
July 30th, 2020 – SUNY New Paltz student Meghan O’Reilly, who painted the oyster life cycle mural at the Islip Shellfish Hatchery in East Islip last year, is creating two murals for the new Town of Islip Animal Shelter.
