A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

Schoberl came upon a two-car motor vehicle accident in West Islip this past August minutes after it had taken place. His quick-thinking actions, securing the scene and extinguishing flames with a fire extinguisher, helped prevent a tragic situation from occurring.

A night image of midnight blue skies and a row of houses illuminated with lights, the flood waters surrounding them up to the doorstep, like a street built on the sea or a community in Venice...dark night time waters reflecting back the sleepy homes' lights in yellow, jade and amethyst ripples.

October 11th, 2019 Town of Islip DPW crews have been working around the clock to mitigate coastal flooding caused by the recent storm system that swept through the area. All storm-related equipment is being utilized until the flood waters recede.
