Welch of West Islip, shot a net 69 (gross 85) to win the Flight Winners’ Playoff at the 36th Annual PlayGolfMyrtleBeach.com World Amateur Handicap Championship Friday at Barefoot Resort’s Dye Course.
Welch beat James Juden of California by a shot, to emerge from a field of 3,215 golfers and claim the title of World Champion!
September 16th, 2019– The Town of Islip conducted its FREE Senior Health Fair Monday at the Caesar Trunzo Senior Center in Brentwood.
Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter attended and received a Flu shot. "I encourage everyone to get a Flu shot. It takes only a few minutes, and is an excellent way to ensure good health for yourself and for your loved ones, throughout flu season," added Supervisor Carpenter.
September 10th, 2019 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter congratulated Lynn Luttenberger and the entire board of the West Islip Historical Society on the ribbon cutting of their new home at the former LaGrange Inn.
September 6th, 2019 – Islip officials attended a ribbon cutting celebration marking the completion of National Grid’s revamped Brightwaters Facility on Clinton Ave in Bay Shore recently.
The re-purposed Brightwaters Facility was constructed to improve the level of service provided to the communities served, utilizing state-of-the-art technologies designed to lower carbon footprints, minimize the inconveniences associated with conventional construction and associated paving restoration costs.
