April 27th, 2023 –The talented and creative winners of the Town of Islip's annual Earth Day Poster Contest were announced this week and honored with prizes for their artwork. The event is made possible through the Town of Islip DEC partnership with COVANTA, a leader in environmental innovation dedicated to helping business and communities capitalize on the benefits of zero waste-to-landfull.
April 28th, 2023 – Play Ball! The Central Islip Little League celebrated the 2023 season along with a new 90’ turf field at Opening Day ceremonies recently.
April 24th, 2023 – In partnership with American Airlines, local Long Island high school students joined with 18 WWII heroes as they visited the National WWII Museum in New Orleans to learn about their legacy of service, share their history with younger generations and highlight the importance of service, sacrifice and defending our nation.
April 20th, 2023 – The arrival of a special delivery was celebrated at the April Town Board meeting. About 2 months ago, on Saturday February 25th, Amy and Ian Steinberg were preparing for bed, as expecting and soon-to-be parents. When they found themselves on the Long Island Expressway the next morning … at 2:00 AM, they quickly learned the true meaning of the word “soon.”
April 19th, 2023 – During the April Town Board meeting, Town officials traditionally celebrate the many wonderful Islip students and their achievements at the annual Student Achievement Awards. Due to COVID, the last in-person Student Achievement Award ceremony hadn’t taken place since 2019. On Tuesday, April 18th, students from school districts throughout the Town came together with their family and friends to once again, celebrate student accomplishments in-person at Islip Town Hall.
April 19th, 2023 – Staff from Good Samaritan University Hospital continued their mission to educate seniors on how to prepare healthy meals during a recent visit to the Casear Trunzo Senior Center in Brentwood. The visits to local senior centers are part of an ongoing nutrition series and partnership between Good Samaritan University Hospital and the Town of Islip, to help educate residents about the importance of living a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
