September 11th, 2023 – The 5th annual Town of Islip SeaFest took place Saturday at the Bay Shore Marina. Hundreds turned out to enjoy music by Modern Justice; pony rides; petting zoo; Under the Sea children's section; vendors featuring handcrafted items and gifts; seafood; food trucks; craft beer and more. Admission is always free.
September 7th, 2023 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined with members of the Historical Society of Islip Hamlet and Kurt and Michael Bohlsen, for the installation of an historic marker at the Bohlsen Restaurant Group Headquarters site on Main St. in Islip.
The historic designation of the BRG Headquarters marks Islip's Second Town Hall. The Bohlsen family restored the site, and graciously permitted and installed the marker.
September 7th, 2023 – Come and practice your creativity at any one of the Town of Islip's Senior Centers. Recently, seniors enjoyed making tin can planters at the Caesar Trunzo Senior Center in Brentwood. The program, "Center Craft Creations" is offered at Oakdale; Ronkonkoma; Caesar Trunzo; Joyce Fitzpatrick and West Islip. Sign up at your local center and join the fun.
September 1st, 2023 – Families, community leaders, civic organizations and Town and County officials came together to pay tribute to the lives lost to overdose by lighting the Bayport Blue Point Library tree purple Thursday. The gathering marked International Overdose Awareness Day, while offering Narcan/Harm Reduction Training; “Shed the Meds”; along with mental health resources.
September 1st, 2023 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter joined with MacArthur Airport officials Shelley LaRose Arken, Aviation Commissioner and Robert Schneider, Deputy Aviation Commissioner, to recognize Breeze ISP GAT staff for their exceptional overall performance, truly exemplifying the Best in Airline Ground Support.
