Senior Citizen (RP-467) and Disability (RP-459-c) Exemptions are AUTOMATICALLY RENEWED for the 2021/22 tax year pursuant to legislation from New York State, as long as the property remains the exemption recipient’s primary residence. If the residency requirement is questioned, our office will notify you. If you do not hear from us, NO ACTION IS NECESSARY and the exemption will appear on your tax bill issued in December of 2021. This process assists our most vulnerable populations for one year during this COVID-19 Pandemic.
For all other exemption and renewal applicants, the deadline to file an application with the Assessor’s Office is Monday, March 1, 2021. To ensure your continued health and safety during the COVID-19 pandemic, a single drop box for ALL Exemptions is available through Monday, March 1st (see details below). You may also forward to our office via mail or fax (see below), as long as your application is received by our office by no later than March 1st.
