December 15th, 2020 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Town Public Safety officials, are urging restaurant owners and residents to prepare for a winter storm expected to hit our area Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. Wind gusts are anticipated to reach up to 50 mph, with snow accumulations across the region.
Restaurant owners should secure tents, outdoor dining tables and chairs. Homeowners should secure outdoor furniture, barbecues, umbrellas and any object that could become a projectile.
Cars, garbage cans, basketball hoops and any other recreational objects should be removed from streets, so that plows can safely and effectively clear roadways.
