A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” - Angie

December 15th, 2020 Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter and Town Public Safety officials, are urging restaurant owners and residents to prepare for a winter storm expected to hit our area Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. Wind gusts are anticipated to reach up to 50 mph, with snow accumulations across the region.

Restaurant owners should secure tents, outdoor dining tables and chairs. Homeowners should secure outdoor furniture, barbecues, umbrellas and any object that could become a projectile.

Cars, garbage cans, basketball hoops and any other recreational objects should be removed from streets, so that plows can safely and effectively clear roadways.
