Today, June 14th, the Town of Islip is proud to celebrate National Flag Day. On this day in 1777, the Continental Congress adopted the Stars and Stripes as our national flag.
Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter helped commemorate the day in a virtual Flag Day town hall meeting with the 6th Grade students of Andrew T. Morrow School in Central Islip, discussing the history and importance of our nation's flag, and the reasons why each year we pay special tribute to the symbol of our great country.
