The Suffolk County Water Authority has provided updates regarding significant SCWA projects in our Town. These projects, which may involve repairing water main, installing new water main, maintaining hydrants or building new infrastructure, are essential in assuring that SCWA customers continue to enjoy a safe and reliable drinking water supply.
Notable SCWA projects underway this week:
- Central Islip – Undersized water main will be replaced with eight-inch ductile iron water main on Oak Street to improve the distribution of water, water pressure and fire protection in the area.
- Sayville – More than 1,500 feet of aging water main on Atlantic Avenue is being replaced with new ductile iron water main. This will improve the distribution of water as well as water pressure and fire protection in the area.
