Town Square

A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

Heavy rain and strong winds forecast for Suffolk County, Friday night into Saturday morning, may bring flooding to our area with a potential of 1-3 feet of inundation above ground level in vulnerable areas near the waterfront and shoreline. The storm will bring a wintery mix, with high winds between 35 mph and 40 mph, and the potential for gusts of 50 mph or more. Isolated downed trees, branches and powerlines are possible.

If travel is necessary, allow for extra time as some roads bay be closed. Do not drive through barricades or through water of unknown depth. Do not approach downed powerlines. Precautions should be taken to protect flood-prone property.

Downed wires or power outages can be reported to PSEG, by calling 1-800-490-0075, or by visiting the PSEG mobile app, to receive information on restoration times, crew locations and more.
