Come enjoy this interactive experience exploring the intriguing history of our Town, featuring displays and programs from organizations that preserve the history of the Town, including: the Sayville Farmer’s Market; Bayport Aerodrome; Islip Town Firefighters Museum; Islip Town Clerk’s Office; Town Historian’s Office, and many reenactment groups, historical societies, and libraries.
Enjoy a day of Educational and Family Fun including:
- Veterans books to find family war records
- Demonstrations of colonial homemaking
- Military drills near to the site of a Civil War recruiting camp
- Children’s games from days gone by
- A quilting exhibition
Also Featuring:
- 11:00 am - Walking tour of the historic structures
- 1:00 pm - Be the jury in an interactive trial of the 1880s, titled “An Islip Murder So Foul"
- 3:00 pm - Discussion for ways to research your own home’s history
