and the Islip Town Board
In response to the recent hate crime in Central Islip:
“We denounce hate crimes and any act of hate across our Town. We are one town, and proudly celebrate our multi-cultural diversity, which enriches our Town every day. In 2022, the Town rebranded its Anti-Bias Task Force to the Town of Islip Unity Council, with the goal of confronting prejudice, and thwarting hate crime and biases in our Town. Last spring, the Unity Council hosted a Unity Prayer Ceremony, and in August, a Unity in the Community event at the Grange in Islip. We will continue to build upon these annual events. It is so important that we always remember that we should be united as one human race in our steadfast commitment to peace and unity.”
