September 26th, 2019 – Islip Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter will be joined by members of the Islip Town Board, community leaders, elected officials and Town residents for Islip Goes Purple, Thursday, September 26th at 4:30 pm.
September is National Recovery Month. The Town of Islip has been in the forefront of the Opioid/Heroin crisis, officially designating the Town of Islip Opioid Task Force in 2018 to address this issue.
On Thursday, the hamlet of Islip will go purple, to show that the Islip CommUNITY stands united, together in memory of the lives lost, those in recovery, those struggling and the Islip families affected.
Town Hall, along with merchants and businesses on Main St. will be illuminated in purple lights, to demonstrate UNITY in Islip.
