February 28th, 2020 – In observance of May as Jewish American Heritage month, the Town of Islip will celebrate Jewish American Heritage 2020 by honoring individuals of Jewish descent who reside in the Town of Islip, and who have made significant contributions to the Islip community through their professional or volunteer activity. Nominations are now being accepted.
The United States Congress, along with Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump, have all recognized the importance of celebrating Jewish American accomplishments and heritage. As a result, a presidential proclamation has designated May as Jewish American Heritage Month.
To nominate a community member please submit a Nomination Form no later than Wednesday, April 15, 2020. You may obtain a Nomination Form via this LINK. Honorees will be selected based on their accomplishments and contributions to the Town of Islip Community.
