As you know, this is an unprecedented time for us all and everything is changing, sometimes by the minute.
As the COVID-19 virus continues to spread, we are all finding ourselves impacted on many different levels. Fear and anxiety for our health, our loved ones, our jobs; transitioning to a new way of working and living; balancing work with childcare; homeschooling while schools are closed – and so much more.
While we can’t control the external factors around us, we can control our response to COVID-19. Spring is here. It’s a symbol of rebirth and renewal. Create something positive during these unsettling times. Practice social distancing and enjoy a walk, run or bicycle ride outdoors. Spend quality time with your families. Reach out to loved ones through telephone, email or text. Tackle a home project you’ve been delaying. Choose Faith over fear. Choose Peace over panic.
If you are suffering from anxiety, depression or addiction, take advantage of online mental health resources. This week’s e-alert offers links to valuable information for residents, as well as resources for small businesses affected by COVID-19. Please avail yourselves of these websites.
The health and safety of our residents is a top priority. I continue to participate in daily conference calls with County officials, and will monitor and share all breaking information as it becomes available. The Town continues to follow Federal, State and County guidelines while in the midst of this pandemic.
