June 1st, 2020 – The New York State Department of Transportation today announced that motorists should expect overnight lane closures next week on State Route 27A in the Town of Islip, Suffolk County.
Beginning on Monday, June 1, milling and resurfacing of the road’s asphalt will be taking place between 5th Avenue and Saxon Avenue. From 10 p.m. until 6 a.m., westbound traffic will be detoured towards Union Boulevard while eastbound traffic will remain open with a traffic shift in place.
These closures are expected to be completed in one week. As with most road projects, work may be cancelled, postponed, or prolonged due to inclement weather. Electronic variable message signs in the area will relay additional information.
