March 28th, 2019 – As warmer weather approaches, please remember to safely handle and dispose of hazardous materials, including chlorine (either tablet, liquid or granular), gasoline, motor oil, fertilizers, etc. These items can NOT be disposed of in the garbage as they pose a risk to community and environmental safety.
To properly recycle hazardous items, homeowners can bring them free of charge to the Multi-Purpose Recycling Facility located at 1155 Lincoln Avenue, Holbrook. The Facility is open Monday-Friday 7:00a.m.-2:30p.m. Additionally open on Saturday, May 18th from 9:00am-2:00pm. If in doubt, before you throw it out, please call the Department of Environmental Control (631) 595-3630.
