A Message from the Supervisor

“Welcome to Islip, the 3rd largest town in New York State, but with an endearing small town feel. We are so proud of our town…our beaches, golf courses, marinas, parks, housing opportunities for all, businesses, industrial parks, healthcare and educational institutions including our own Islip MacArthur Airport that provides many job opportunities. I sincerely hope you find this website helpful.” Angie

December 4th, 2020 Islip Town officials are advising residents to make a plan to pay their property tax payments, and avoid waiting on long lines outside during winter months.

Town officials are under strict guidelines set by NYS due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and will be limiting the number of people permitted inside the Tax Receiver’s Office at one time. Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter is reminding residents that they have options when paying their taxes.

“Taxpayers have choices other than to pay in person,” said Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter. “They can pay online at www.islipny.gov/departments/receiver-of-taxes beginning December 8th; they can mail their post-office-stamped payment envelope to 40 Nassau Ave., Islip, NY 11751; or they can drop their payment off at the Tax Receiver’s office beginning December 7, 2020,” said Supervisor Carpenter.

First half taxes are due without penalty until January 10, 2021. Many of those who choose to pay their taxes in person are in a high-risk category. “This is not the time for the elderly or those with underlying health conditions to wait their turn online indoors, or in the cold weather outside. We’re encouraging residents to create a plan that reduces the risk of contracting COVID-19 by choosing another option,” she added.
