December 14th, 2020 – Town of Islip Public Safety officials are encouraging residents to be mindful of Islip’s Town Code. Parking too close to a fire hydrant puts lives in danger, by restricting firefighters from gaining access to fire hydrants. Please do not park within 15 feet of a hydrant.
Islip Town Code; 19-8: No parking in fire zones and/or within 15 feet of fire hydrants. No persons shall park or leave standing any vehicle in any area designated or marked as a fire zone and/or within 15 feet of fire hydrants, nor shall any area so designated be used for the storage of any material or used in any way that will obstruct the same or render the same inaccessible by fire apparatus.
