January 13th, 2021 – Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter recently presented Anthony “Tony” Sciallo with a citation marking his retirement from the Town of Islip. Tony began his career with the Town at the WRAP facility in 1987; a year later, he moved to the shellfish hatchery cultivating clams and oysters for the next 24 years. In 2014, Tony transitioned to the Animal Shelter and Adopt-a-Pet Center where he served the animal shelter as a Maintenance Mechanic I until his retirement in January.
“Tony is a dedicated public servant, and has been instrumental in the success of the Town of Islip Shellfish Hatchery and the Animal Shelter. We wish Tony all the best in his future,” said Supervisor Carpenter.
Supervisor Carpenter was joined by DEC Commissioner, Marty Bellew; DEC Deputy Commissioner, Greg Hancock, Ken Moses, Executive Assistant to the Commissioner, DEC and Animal Shelter Director, Teri Giacalone.
