February 16th, 2021 – Islip officials were the recipients of a sizable donation of PPE, courtesy of a Bohemia based, woman-owned business. Representatives from Liberty Masks donated 10,000 pieces of disposable and reusable PPE to the Town’s Public Safety Division and Office of Personnel.
“We are proud to be here and offer our products, which are made in America, to our communities,” said Sue Bhasin, Senior Sales Representative, Liberty Masks.
“We would like to thank Liberty Masks for their gracious generosity, as they make this incredible donation to the Town of Islip of 10,000 masks, to help us in our fight against COVID-19. A donation of this magnitude will go a long way in keeping our residents safe,” said Islip Town Supervisor, Angie Carpenter.
“We work closely with the public, and have been providing masks to local nursing homes and Veterans’ organizations, but in limited quantities,” said Tony D’Amico, Commissioner, Town of Islip Public Safety. “It’s so important to have these masks, so that we can ensure that our loved ones are wearing them as well," he said.
“We are so grateful to Liberty Masks for their donation, and the fact that the masks are made in America, it’s a wonderful thing,” said Arthur Abbate, Director of Personnel and Islip Town Safety Officer.
"I am urging everyone to continue wearing their masks, practice good hand hygiene, and maintain social distancing," said Supervisor Carpenter. "Remember, we're in this together, just 6 feet apart."
